About Department
Department of Social Work had its existence way back in 2018-19 in Children’s University. The department at its initial stage catering to the needs of the society by learning about it and practising the learning obtained from it. The course curriculum is designed as per the CBCS pattern prescribed by the UGC and offers the papers of special interest in the area of Family and Child Welfare, Rural Development, Tribal Development, Psychosocial Counseling, NGO Management, Micro Finance and Livelihood, Dynamics of Human behaviour etc. The Department also runs M.Phil. The programme, where the thrust of the current research endeavours in the areas like Healthcare, Reproductive and Child Health Programme (RCH), HIV/ AIDS, ICDS Services, Panchayati Raj, Non-Governmental Organizations, Women in Unorganized Sector, Self Help Groups, Corporate Voluntarism, Water and Sanitation, Disaster Management, Psychosocial problems of Elderly, Cancer, Tuberculosis, etc. The department has initiated outreach activities in nearby rural communities.

About the Programme
Masters of Social Work
Department of Social Work is a newly established department in the University. The department functions under School of Humanities under the University Act. Master of Social Work course is of two years and four semesters. The course offers theoretical as well as the practical learning to the students. The students will have four days of class room learning and two days of field work. The students gain exposure of field work in rural, NGO, medical and industrial sectors. The students of social work avail the opportunity for rural camp, study tour and block placement to enhance the learning. The students of social work also have an opportunity to carryout research.
